Inauguration of the Consulate General of Sweden

On 22 March, 2011, the Consulate General of Sweden in Slovakia will be inaugurated. Vladimír Kestler, a representative of the Slovak business community, has been appointed the new Honorary Consul General. The consular district covers the whole area of the Slovak Republic. The primary task of the consulate will be to support the development of relations between our countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment, tourism, culture, education, research and sport. The Consulate will also provide the public with consular and information services. The opening of the Consulate General in Bratislava emphasizes Sweden’s extraordinary interest to further develop the good relationship which exists between our countries. The new Honorary Consul General Vladimír Kestler is convinced that the Consulate in close cooperation with the Embassy of Sweden in Vienna will contribute to intensifying the good contacts between Sweden and Slovakia. He also hopes that the Consulate will provide the Swedish community in Slovakia with valuable help by communication with the home country and that it will be a source of information about Sweden for the Slovak public. On the occasion of the inauguration of the Consulate General the Honorary Consul General Vladimír Kestler and the Swedish Ambassador Hans Lundborg will host a reception for more than hundred invited guests.
